Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!
Published on 09 January 2019
This time of the year, it is not unusal for Austria to get loads of snow, but it is unusal to see within a few days as much new snow as normally in the full month of January. Several areas in Austria have been cut-off from the rest of world and do their best in surviving the winter harshness. Still, some humane stories about snow incidents are heart-warming and go viral such as the rescue of a “Gams” (wild goat) buried in and freed from the snow by Austrian railway workers, read and watch more in this Atlas Obscura article. This story really went viral, it even made it to Brunei Darussalam.
But don’t be afraid, when you will arrive for INTERSPEECH in September, snow will only be found on our highest mountains!
